Project Details

The Mighty Millie Popsicle Project is a sustainable way to keep freezers stocked with organic freezer popsicles wherever childhood cancer treatment is ongoing.

How it works:

• We send organic freezer popsicles every 90 days.

• The popsicles ship in liquid form via UPS from Atlanta, GA.

• Most locations receive 2 cases of popsicles. Some larger hospitals and treatment centers receive 4 cases (480 popsicles) and some receive 1 case (120 popsicles). There is no limit and the restock amount can be adjusted.

• Hospitals can restock ANY time for as many cases as needed. Email popsicles@mightymillie.org.

Where we donate:

Our goal is to donate popsicles wherever childhood cancer treatment is ongoing.

We donate cases of popsicles to hospitals with inpatient rooms, infusion centers, clinics, family rooms, and other areas that support pediatric oncology and hematology patients.

We also donate cases to departments and standalone clinics, oncology radiology, proton therapy, and other treatment centers that cater to pediatric patients. We have found that a popsicle can be especially helpful for younger patients after port access and waking up from sedation.

Mixed Patient Areas and Visitors:

We do not mind if the diagnosis or age of the served population of a center is mixed, as long as popsicles are available to children undergoing childhood cancer treatment.

Popsicles are great for patients, siblings, and even caregivers!

Freezers:

We will provide a freezer if there is a need. We can send you a counter top freezer from Amazon like this one.

The popsicles can be placed in an accessible place such as a family room, recovery area, or similar area that is frequented by staff and caregivers if possible. We want it to be as easy as possible to create small moments of big joy.

Food Safety:

Serving food products to childhood cancer patients is something we take seriously. We make sure we are providing the highest quality, organic freezer props available in the safest way possible.

• The bags and each individual popsicle is sealed from the manufacturer.

• The organic popsicle ingredients are shelf stable for up to a year.

• Popsicles are stored in a 60 degree warehouse along with other semi-perishables like chocolate.

• We try to ship via UPS on Monday's in order to ensure the fewest travel days during warm months. 

• We restock every 90 days to keep popsicles fresh.

• Please remove any popsicles with outdated “Best By” dates. You can host a staff popsicle party.
